Meet Cimonette Labuschagne

I started my journey with Tegel in 2019 as an HR Advisor at our Henderson site, moved to our Head Office in Newmarket before finding my way back to Henderson in my current role as Senior People & Culture Partner.

Along the way, I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone, taken on exciting new challenges and grown my business acumen.  I’m fortunate to have been exposed to areas of People and Culture that I hadn’t worked in before. 

Every day here is different, with opportunities to work across corporate, commercial, and agricultural teams. It’s a role full of emotional ups and downs, one moment you’re celebrating milestones, the next you’re supporting someone through a tough time. That human connection is what makes it so meaningful.

What’s kept me inspired? The incredible people, especially the women in leadership and Tegel’s genuine investment in my development, from coaching to leadership training. I love knowing that my work matters and that I’m contributing to something bigger.  Tegel has a rich employee culture where people are supported and encouraged to do their best, and there’s real opportunities for growth. 

And yes, we make time for fun too, my team has a really great vibe and needs little excuse for a celebratory morning tea!
