About the role

As our Occupational Health Specialist to join our Auckland team, based at our Henderson site, you'll deliver professional occupational health services that promote and maintain the physical, mental, and social well-being of our employees. You'll play a key role in injury management, health surveillance, wellbeing initiatives, and ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse who is confident and passionate about delivering employee-focused occupational health and screening services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Pre-Employment health screening and drug/alcohol testing
  • Deliver high-quality occupational health monitoring (lung function, audiometry, ear health etc)
  • Provision of first aid, assessment of employee injuries and coordination of return-to-work plans, as well as injury management
  • Engage and foster strong relationships with the local community and healthcare providers; as well as ACC and other external health providers
  • Assist with ergonomic assessments and occupational hygiene monitoring
  • Support health promotion and wellbeing programmes
  • Improve health outcomes for our employees
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reporting

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Registered Nurse with a current APC (NZ)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health Nursing (preferred)
  • First Aid Certificate
  • NZQA Unit Standards 25458, 25511, 32327 & 32328
  • Spirometry and Audiometry Certification
  • Full NZ Driver's Licence
  • Minimum 3 years' nursing experience (occupational health, acute or primary care)
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and ACC processes
  • Proficiency in Enigma (Predict) and clinical data management
