Reporting to the Head of Remuneration & Reward, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time — every time. You’ll be the go‑to expert for payroll queries, providing clear, confident support to employees across the business.
This role is perfect for someone who is collaborative, detail‑driven, and technically savvy, with a strong understanding of NZ payroll legislation. You’ll thrive here if you’re organised, adaptable, and confident owning your workflow.

Who We’re Looking For
- Payroll experience in a similar role within a large, complex organisation
- A sharp eye for detail and a process‑driven mindset
- Strong communication skills and a passion for great service
- Solid understanding of NZ payroll legislation, leave entitlements, ACC, PAYE, and KiwiSaver
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
- Experience using Ready Workforce (Zambion) would be advantageous but not essential
What You’ll Be Doing
- End‑to‑end weekly payroll processing operations for your primary location while supporting other locations
- Processing payroll accurately and in a timely manner for all standard and off-cycle pay runs
- Manage employee lifecycle data including onboarding, offboarding, reporting, leave balances, ACC, and KiwiSaver.
- Provide clear and researched explanations in simple language that enables the building of a better understanding by employees of relevant policy, process, procedure and guidelines
- Support the Head of Remuneration & Reward with complex or escalated queries, and ad-hoc tasks as required
- Drive continuous improvement activities within the team to ensure enhanced service delivery
- Ensure strict compliance with employment legislation and company policies
